Previously, I had sculpted the pillars and cut out the circular bases. Then, I added gravel/grit and painted a black base coat.
Today, I painted and added flock to the Defenders of the Realm Magic Gate Miniatures. I almost exclusively used dry brushing techniques to paint the Magic Gates and rocky bases. I also used some of my homemade flock to garnish three of the Magic Gate Miniatures. I was able to make these 5 Magic Gate Miniatures with the only cost being the small amount of paint and glue that I used from what I already had on hand. So, it was essentially FREE! And, I'm really happy with how they turned out.

Here's a close-up of one of the Magic Gates with flocking. I used my homemade sawdust flock for these miniatures. I chose to vary the amount of flock on each miniature and I left some without any flock. I think it added a little more variety between each of the gates. | Here's a close-up of a Magic Gate without flocking. |
