To create our new and improved DIY Miniature Storage Container with foam trays, we used the following:
- 1 Sterilite Filing Box ($9.49 at Walmart)
- Foam (Free from the Craigslist couch)
- 3 Craft Foam Sheets ($0.33 each from Walmart)
- Tacky Glue
- Razor blades
- Ruler/tape measure
- Pen/pencil
- TIME
The Sterilite Filing Box has a handy storage compartment on the top. It's great for storing cards, tokens, or dice to go with the miniatures. | Inside the Sterilite Filing Box. Its interior dimensions are around 11.5" x 9" x 11". There is a slight slope, so the dimensions are slightly smaller at the bottom than they are at the top. |
All of the supplies on our craft table.
The Craft Foam Sheets (we used 3). These are glued to the bottom of each foam tray to prevent the miniatures from falling through. | A close-up of the foam from the couch. This foam was about 2" thick, which worked great for the miniatures. |
